HealthMarkets AMG raises $125,000 for Greater Fort Worth-Area 11

North Richland Hills, Texas – September 11, 2007 – HealthMarkets Agency Marketing Group (http://www.healthmarkets.com) announced its final tally for a fundraising effort to benefit the Special Olympics: $125,000. A check for that amount went to the Special Olympics Texas, Greater Fort Worth Area 11 (http://www.specialolympicstexas.org). The check was presented on Saturday, September 8, at the Yucatan Beach Club, in Coppell, Texas, at the conclusion of the Agency Marketing Group’s sand volleyball tournament celebrating the fundraising effort, which drew from agents, divisions, regions and business partners.

HealthMarkets is a leading provider of affordable health and life insurance to the self-employed, individuals and small businesses through its subsidiaries, The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, Mid-West National Life Insurance Company of Tennessee and The Chesapeake Life Insurance Company.

“We like to combine fundraising with team building events for our organization. Volleyball is fun to play and fun to watch so everyone can be involved,” said Troy McQuagge, President of HealthMarkets Agency Marketing Group. “Our organization strongly believes in helping others and giving back to our communities.”

Agency Marketing Group has supported various charitable groups over the years, but this is the first year to support the Special Olympics. “We have people within our organization whose children and grandchildren participate in Special Olympics events,” Mark Hauptman, Executive Vice President of HealthMarkets Agency Marketing Group. “We believe in the organization and the many benefits it brings, and we are pleased to contribute to its success.”

“Special Olympics Texas is amazed by the dedication and commitment of HealthMarkets. The company raised such a tremendous amount of money to support our athletes and to allow us to bring even more athletes into the program,” said Margaret Larsen, President and CEO of Special Olympics Texas. “The money raised will help positively impact the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities.”

Susie McAlister, Development Director for Special Olympics Texas Area 11, as well as other local Special Olympics Texas coaches, were present for the presentation from HealthMarkets Agency Marketing Group.
