Vision coverage is a health benefit that at least partially covers vision care, like eye exams and glasses. All Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) sold on the Marketplaces include pediatric vision coverage. QHPs don’t have to include adult vision coverage, however. If adult vision coverage is important to you, check the details of any plan you’re considering to see if it’s included. If your Qualified Health Plan doesn’t include adult vision coverage, you can buy a “stand-alone” vision plan. Stand-alone vision plans aren’t offered through the Marketplace, and tax credits can’t be applied to them. Learn about available stand-alone vision plans by contacting your state’s Department of Insurance, or a local agent or broker.
