Keystone Health Plan Central is a subsidiary wholly owned by Capital BlueCross. Capital BlueCross strives to be a consumer-focused health insurance leader, providing innovative care that improves the health and well-being of its members. Through Capital BlueCross, Keystone Health is able to provide Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans to residents of Pennsylvania.

Keystone Health Plan Central members can choose between on-exchange, off-exchange, multistate, and local plans because of its connection to Capital BlueCross. All of Keystone Health’s plans are HMOs, but individuals and families have the choice of platinum, gold, silver, bronze, and catastrophic levels of coverage. Plan offerings vary by county.

As a part of the Capital BlueCross family, Keystone Health members have access to multiple wellness programs and resources. Some of these include a smoking cessation program, a weight management program, and a 24/7 nurse line. Keystone Health Plan Central members can also enjoy new programs, such as diabetes education, surgery education, and pregnancy and newborn education.

Founded in 1985, Keystone Health has been in operation for over 30 years. Capital BlueCross acquired the company in April 2003, purchasing 50 percent in Keystone Health from Highmark, Inc. Keystone Health Plan Central has been accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

Like many insurance companies, Keystone Health Plan Central’s product offerings include HMO plans.
