External Review Policy

HealthMarkets allows the publishing of customer feedback we receive. This policy applies to reviews submitted by customers through third-party online review software platforms used by HealthMarkets. HealthMarkets will remove posts when we are alerted that there has been a violation of the following content policies:

Personal and Confidential Information: Posts that contain your or another person’s personal information, including phone numbers, addresses, credit card information, driver’s license, policy or claim information, or any patient information that violates HIPAA regulations.

Patient Privacy and HIPAA Compliance:

• Patient Information: Posts that contain any patient information that violates HIPAA regulations will be removed immediately.
• Medical Advice: Posts that offer medical advice or diagnosis should be avoided to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations

Vulgarity: Posts that are obscene, profane, derogatory, inflammatory, or contain offensive language.

Threats: Posts that represent personal attacks or threats on others.

Hate Speech/Discrimination: Posts that advocate against groups of people based on their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, political affiliation, etc.

Off-topic Reviews: Posts based on someone else’s experience, or that are not about your specific interaction with HealthMarkets.

Advertising and Solicitation: Posts containing advertising or solicitations.

Illegal Content: Posts that contain or link to unlawful content.

Third-party Content: Posts that contain materials that are copyrighted or owned by a third party without proper authorization.

Misrepresentation: Posts that are submitted fraudulently on behalf of others or misrepresent the reviewer’s identity or connection with HealthMarkets.

Litigation: Posts that mention ongoing legal matters or proceedings will be reviewed for appropriateness and may be removed to avoid influencing legal outcomes.

Moderation Process: Flagged reviews or nuanced cases (e.g., context-dependent language or personally identifiable information in reviews) are reviewed by human moderators to determine appropriateness.

Acknowledgment: HealthMarkets may respond to reviews to acknowledge feedback and address concerns while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Verification: Reviews may be subject to verification to ensure they are from actual patients or their guardians.

Consent to Use Posted Reviews: By posting a review, you agree that any: (a) information you provide will be used in accordance with the HealthMarkets Online Privacy Statement; and (b) except where prohibited by law, any posted review can be used HealthMarkets for any lawful purpose, including marketing and/or advertising, in perpetuity, in any media now known or developed in the future, worldwide, and on the internet without further notice, permission, or compensation.
