The Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) is a health insurance exchange that helps small business owners provide medical and dental insurance to their employees. Some smaller employers qualify for tax credits if they buy health insurance through the SHOP Marketplace. Small business owners can apply online or use an agent or broker to enroll in SHOP insurance. There’s no limited enrollment period for the SHOP Marketplace, so they can apply, pick plans, and enroll employees any time of year.
